‘I have nowhere to go’ – NDC chair Ashie Moore laments neglect by Mahama’s govt

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has expressed dissatisfaction with what he describes as neglect by the John Dramani Mahama-led government, despite his financial contributions and investments towards the party's electoral success.
Ashie Moore said none of his companies had been awarded a government contract since the NDC assumed office, adding that he had also not received any appointment in the Mahama administration.
Speaking about his sacrifices for the party in a viral video clip from a recent NDC event, he claimed that no regional chairman in the history of the NDC had made the level of financial investment he had committed to the party in the Greater Accra Region.
"The investment that I did for this party. Look at the money that I sank into this party in this region. No past or present regional chairman has made that investment before in the history of the NDC," he said.
He further lamented that despite his contributions, none of his companies had been awarded a government contract.
"None of my companies has been given a government contract. I have loved the party. I have nowhere to go. I have exposed myself," he stated.
According to him, his political involvement has also affected his ability to access financial support from banks, as his status as a politically exposed person makes it difficult for him to secure loans.
"When you go to the bank to take a loan, they will tell you that you are politically exposed. So, where do I get a loan?" he questioned.

Ashie Moore also disclosed that he had not been appointed to any position in the current government, stressing that he was neither a presidential staffer nor a government appointee.
"I don't have any appointment in this government. I am not a presidential staffer. I have to go and work," he said.
He expressed sadness over his situation, suggesting that the lack of recognition for his contributions had left him disappointed.
