Ten presidents from across the globe have confirmed their attendance for the burial of Tanzania's fifth president, John Magufuli.
The government spokesperson, Dr Hassan Abassi, said in a press release that he will announce the names of the ten presidents at around noon today.
The 61-year-old former president died of heart complications at the Mzena Memorial Hospital in Dar es Salaam on March 17.
The first of three public viewing and funeral event took place in the commercial capital of Dar es Salaam yesterday (March 20) ahead the second which is slated for the national capital, Dodoma, tomorrow, March 22.
His body will be laid to rest at his hometown of Chato in Geita Region on Friday, March 26, 2021.
Magufuli became the first Tanzanian President to die in office – which development gave the country its first female President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, 61, Magufuli's vice president since 2015.
She was sworn into the highest Office in the Land on Friday, March 19, 2021.
