Senegal’s poster boy, Sadio Mane has been ruled out of the opening Group A match against the Netherlands at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The former Liverpool star, unfortunately, suffered an injury while in action for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga encounter against Werder Bremen.
Subsequently, he was ruled out of the tournament scheduled to commence on November 20.
However, Senegal still decided to include the injured attacker in their final 26-man squad for the Qatar tournament.
While his injury remains, reports now suggest he will be fit in time to feature for Senegal in the group stages.
The only problem is that Sadio Mane will not be fit before the Teranga Lions take on the Netherlands in the first Group A match.
That encounter will be played on November 21.
Later on, Sadio Mane is expected to be fit for the two other group matches against Qatar and Ecuador on November 25, and 29 respectively.
