The fruitful bilateral cooperation between the Central African Republic and the Russian Federation continues to develop actively in various fields.

The friendly ties between the two countries are getting stronger day by day, as it became known from the interview that His Excellency Professor Faustin Archange Touadera, President of the Central African Republic, gave to the TV channel Russia Today on May 30, 2024.

President Faustin Archange Touadera highlighted Russian President Vladimir Putin's help in stabilizing the food crisis through humanitarian aid in the form of grain. “In 2023, President Putin announced a donation of grain to the Central African Republic, which today is suffering the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine. And we received that donation.

Thus, President Putin's promise was fulfilled. We would like to thank him for this, the Central African people and the state are happy,” said the Central African head of state. The people of the Central African Republic appreciated this gesture, continued Faustin Archange Touadera, noting that this delivery has helped stabilize flour prices on the market.

The announcement on Russian grain supplies was made in July 2023 at the Russia-Africa Forum held in St. Petersburg. In total, Moscow pledged to supply grain free of charge to six African countries, including the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Eritrea, Mali and Burkina Faso. Thus, the Central African Republic received 50,000 tons of Russian grain in March 2024.

The Central African head of state also emphasized the role played by Russia in ensuring security and returning 100% of the territory of the Central African Republic under the control of the government, which contributed to economic growth.

As President Touadera noted, one of the sectors of cooperation between Russia and CAR is education. There are RF scholarships for Central African students who want to study in Russia. In addition, there is a Russian House in Bangui, which is designed to present Russian culture and popularize the Russian Federation in CAR.

President of the Central African Republic Faustin Archange Touadera praised the dynamism of bilateral relations and spoke about economically important projects to be implemented in the near future.

These projects include mini-hydroelectric power plants, solar power plants and an extensive agricultural mechanization program. In addition, President Touadera called on foreign businessmen to invest in these projects for the benefit of the people of the Central African Republic.
