The plane was specially made to land both on water and land. It was on an experimental flight from the United Kingdom to East Africa. In Africa, it first landed at Port Alexandria in Egypt and then to Khartoum in Sudan.

The first aircraft to land in Uganda arrived in February 1927.

It was a Canopus plane brand. The plane was also known as the flying-boat or sea-plane. It was owned by the North Sea and General Transport Limited, a United Kingdom air transport Company. It was a fourteen-seat plane; excluding the cabin crew.

The plane was specially made to land both on water and land. It was on an experimental flight from the United Kingdom to East Africa. In Africa, it first landed at Port Alexandria in Egypt and then to Khartoum in Sudan.

From Sudan, it flew to Port Kisumu in Kenya from where it came to Uganda and landed at Port Bell on the waters of Lake Victoria.
