US Congresswoman Illhan Omar has taunted President Donald Trump saying he ran the country like "an eight-year-old".
She was responding to Mr Trump's comments at his campaign rally last night, where he said:
"We are going to win the state of Minnesota because of her, they say. You tell us how to run our country, how did you do where you came from? How is your country doing? She's telling us how to run our country."
"Firstly, this is my country & I am a member of the House that impeached you. Secondly, I fled civil war when I was 8. An 8-year-old doesn’t run a country even though you run our country like one," tweeted Ms Omar, who is a Democrat and a top critic of Mr Trump.
She was born in Somalia but her family fled the country after civil war broke out in the 90s.
In 2016, she became the first Somali-American to hold elective office from the state of Minnesota, a key battleground in the November presidential elections.
Firstly, this is my country & I am a member of the House that impeached you.
