First Lady of the Nasarawa State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, will be speaking at this year’s edition of the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) 2024, organizers have confirmed.

This comes after the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, under the leadership of His Excellency, Dayo Adeoye – High Commissioner – had also pledged the Commission’s support to the event a couple of days ago.

Scheduled to take place in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, between October 27 and 31, the event would see over 1,500 young women from within and outside Nigeria undergo intensive training and coaching from other renowned trailblazers across the continent through mentoring and other activities carefully lined up with the ultimate aim of empowering them in various fields of life.

Confirming the news, Founder and Executive Chairperson of the YAWC Network, Mr. Daniel Osei Tuffuor, said the office of the Nasarawa First Lady had acknowledged her attendance and participation in the event in a phone conversation yesterday.

He described the news as a significant boost to the program and urged all young ladies, particularly those withing Nigeria, to not miss such a “life-changing opportunity.”

The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network is a fraternity of young women of African descent living in Africa and in the diaspora who seek to be empowered and be themselves, change-makers for leadership and development on the continent.

At the heart of its mandate is the mobilisation of women from the grassroots level for leadership and development through advocacy, training and projects.

The theme for this year’s edition is “Enhancing Women’s Economic Empowerment through Innovation and Technology”.
