The proceedings have commenced at a court in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, as witnesses are being called to testify in a petition challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February election.
The opposition Labour Party has put forth additional evidence to support its claim that the election was marred by irregularities and manipulation.
Lawyers representing the opposition have also presented documents alleging that President Tinubu reached a settlement with the United States authorities following an investigation into his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
It is important to note that President Tinubu was never personally charged in this matter and vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
