A young man has been shot down during an ongoing protest calling for the end of the activities of men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Viral videos on social media show women carrying leaves and young men on the street crying out against the activities of SARS.

They could be heard chanting, "we don't want ARS in our town anymore".

The protest is happening just a day after Tiamiyu Kazeem, a footballer who plays for Remo FC, was killed after an encounter with SARS operatives.

Tiamiyu was on his way from training when he met his end after he and his friend were stopped by the operatives.

According to his football club, Tiamiyu was stopped and searched by the men who later pushed him against an oncoming vehicle resulting in the loss of his life.

The club's statement was contradicted by the Police Command in Ogun State which stated that the footballer was hit by a car while fleeing from SARS.
