Nollywood star Monalisa Chinda advocates for women's empowerment in courtesy call with YAWC Network

Nollywood actress, film producer, media personality, and humanitarian, Monalisa Chinyere Chinda, has reiterated her commitment to women's empowerment during a courtesy call from the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network in Abuja, Nigeria.

During the meeting, Chinda praised the efforts of the YAWC Network in creating platforms that empower African women to achieve their aspirations. She expressed her appreciation for the organization's dedication to women’s economic empowerment and innovation, commending their ongoing work across the continent.

Chinda also acknowledged the role of YAWC’s Executive Chairperson, Daniel Osei Tuffuor, highlighting his efforts as a He-for-She advocate in Africa.

Meanwhile, Chinda pledged her full support to the network and confirmed her participation as a speaker at the upcoming Young African Women Congress Annual Global Convocation, set to take place from October 27 to 31, 2024, in Abuja. The event will focus on the theme “Enhancing Women’s Economic Empowerment through Innovation and Technology.”

The YAWC delegation, led by Mr. Tuffuor, sought a partnership with Chinda for the event, recognizing her as a role model and an icon in the Nigerian movie industry. Other members of the delegation included Dr. Eunice Emmanuel, National President of YAWC Network Nigeria, and Nanbam Yohanna Jise, a member of the network.
