Police officers load the body of the deceased in Masaka village
Kisoro territorial police are actively searching for suspects in the alleged murder of 43-year-old Sylvia Nyirandagije, a resident of Masaka village, Nyakabingo parish, Chahi sub-county, Kisoro District.
According to relatives, Nyirandagije went missing on December 15, 2025, and her whereabouts remained unknown until December 17, when her body was discovered in a pit at Bihanga village, Nyakabingo parish.
A passerby spotted the body and immediately alerted locals, including Bihanga village chairperson Nteziyaremye Jackson and Masaka village LC1 chairman Habyara William.
Nteziyaremye Jackson notified the police, who visited the scene, documented it, and retrieved the body. It was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
