The head office of the Deeper Life Bible Church, has denied publications in the media which asserted that the General Superintendent of the church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi held a crusade despite the ban against large gatherings by the Lagos State government.
In a press release signed by the Church Secretary, S.M Afuwape, the church says the media publications were a complete misrepresentation of its ‘special monthly church service tagged: Power Night’ which was streamed to all of its locations worldwide.
The church describing the publications as misleading, mischievous and totally untrue said it was compelled to react to the publications through a release to set the record straight.
The church further states that in line with directives by the Lagos State Government on March 18, 2020, limiting social and religious gatherings to a maximum of 50 persons, the church in compliance held its Monthly Power Night Service at local districts where an old message of the General Superintendent was transmitted by satellite broadcast.
The above situation according to the church was what was misrepresented in the media as a crusade organised by Pastor Fumuyi in disregard to the government directive.
