Uganda's health minister has announced a downward revision of coronavirus cases in the country following President Yoweri Museveni's directive to expunge all foreign drivers from the tally.

The country had by Wednesday confirmed 260 cases according to the World Health Organisation, but the minister says the number is now 145 after revision.

Jane Aceng said the count of all infected foreign lorry drivers will be added to their respective countries.

She tweeted:

The ministry said it had handed over 124 infected foreign drivers to their respective countries since the president's made the directive, but did not disclose their nationalities.
