South Africa has been chosen as the venue for the 15th Commonwealth Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies.
The decision was made by delegates from the 21 participating countries at the recently concluded 14th Commonwealth Regional Conference of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies held in Accra, Ghana, under the theme "Strengthening institutions and promoting transparency: a means of fighting corruption in Commonwealth Africa."
In a ten-point communique, it was agreed, "to accept the offer by South Africa (SA) to host the next Conference in 2025 in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat."
In 2023, the 13th Commonwealth Regional Conference for Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa was held in Seychelles under the theme "Uniting Commonwealth Africa in the Fight Against Corruption."
It was officially opened by President Wavel Ramkalawan of the Republic of Seychelles.
The Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in the Commonwealth of Africa is hosted by different member countries on a rotating basis. Since 2011, a total of 14 meetings have been held.
Representatives from Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Eswatini, Malawi, Rwanda, Togo, Gabon, Mauritius, Seychelles, Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, and Zambia are expected to attend the weeklong event in South Africa.
Ghana has hosted the event for the second time, with stakeholders such as governmental agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners in attendance.
