Tarkwa (W/R) Aug. 11, GNA - Tarkwa United beat Swedru All Blacks by a lone goal in their mid-week Division One League match played at the Tarkwa N'Aboso Park.

Lartey Lamptey scored the only goal in the 32nd-minute after All Blacks had been subjected to intense pressure. Ben de-Heer floated a lofty ball from the centre circle to Ibrahim Idrisu in the visitors' goal area, who cleverly placed the ball on the path of Lamptey to deliver a thunderbolt through a forest of legs into the net.

Tarkwa United continued to pile up pressure on All Blacks but could not increase the tally.

Back from recess, All Blacks introduced three new players into the team, which turned to favour them. They repulsed the challenge with some incessant attacks but could not fetch the needed equaliser. Mid-way into the second half, United made three quick substitutions in order to foil the visitors attacking machinery. That notwithstanding, All Black continued to have the advantage but were unable to score.

All Blacks' Willie Klutse hit the upright while his colleagues failed to utilise numerous goal-scoring chances that came their way. The home team also messed-up few chances as the strikers fumbled in front of goal.

In a related development, Tarkwa United last Sunday put up an impressive performance to beat Odupon Heroes 3-0 played at Tarkwa.
