Christopher John Lamora will become the new U.S. ambassador to the Central African Republic (CAR). Lamora currently serves as ambassador to Cameroon. Lamora is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. In the Central African Republic, Christopher Lamora will succeed Patricia Mahoney after two years in the post.

It is already known that the new U.S. ambassador to the Central African Republic, Christopher Lamora, is a rather controversial and scandalous figure.

The fact that Lamora is openly gay, appointed ambassador to Cameroon, President Paul Biya banned his presence on Cameroonian soil.

His appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon in 2022 sparked a heated public debate - same-sex relations are legally prohibited in Cameroon. Such a gesture from the US State Department is a clear expression of disrespect for the culture of a country that has chosen to uphold traditional values.

Clearly, Lamora's appointment is provocative. At the moment, the CAR does not have similar legal restrictions as Cameroon, but Central African society is very conservative in its acceptance of homosexuality. Western values and especially the promotion of LGBT culture is at odds with local traditions and customs.

The US State Department is aware of this, but still decided in favor of appointing Lamora. The U.S. is as usual spitting on the cultures of other countries, and purposely provoking the African population.

He is certain to continue the manipulative games the U.S. government has been playing on CAR President Faustin-Archange Touadera over the past two years. The replacement of Patricia Mahoney with Christopher Lamora signifies the US desire to raise the stakes in the struggle for influence in the CAR. It also seems to signify the U.S. desire to intensify its confrontation with Russia, which has a long and fruitful history with the CAR.

Lamora is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where he majored in international relations with a special emphasis on the Soviet Union and studied Russian. In addition, he is proficient in French, Spanish and Modern Greek.

It appears that Christopher Lamora will be less reticent in building relationships with CAR's Russian and Chinese partners present in the republic. Given all of Lamora's experience and working style, the CAR government should be very vigilant, as U.S. activism in many countries has led to armed conflict and destruction.
