Uganda's labour minister has repatriated two women who were working as maids in Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
The minister, Frank Tumwebaze, said the women had made "distressed calls" to their families back home in Uganda, who in turn appealed to Mr Tumwebaze for help.
Mr Tumwebaze said the Ugandan government was able to bring the women home with cooperation from the agency that had sent them overseas.
The minister tweeted a photo with the women:
I received these young girls back home at the ministry today. They had been taken to work to Saudi Arabia & Jordan as house maids. Their relatives sent me messages about their distressed calls for help. We worked with the company that had taken them to have them back. pic.twitter.com/ib1IQVVB72
