Zinhle Muthwa: Durban woman’s ‘bruised’ body found on roadside

The body of Zinhle Muthwa was found in Umbumbulu on Thursday, after the young woman allegedly went missing on New Year’s Eve. According to police, Muthwa’s body was found covered in bruises after it was dumped by her alleged attacker(s). No suspects have been identified as of 17:00 on 2 January.

Sadly, the authorities broke the grim news that Muthwa had been killed. Unverified reports have suggested that she was picked up from the roadside on NYE, and was allegedly wearing pyjamas and knew her attacker. However, these details have not been made public or confirmed by an official source.

Umbumbulu is located in the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal. The township lies near the junction of Highway M30 and R603 about 13km south-west of Durban and 19km from the Indian Ocean. The local community has been left devastated by the loss of one of their own.
