Super Eagles goalkeepers, Daniel Akpeyi and Maduka Okoye both conceded three and four goals respectively at the weekend while in goal for their respective teams, The PUNCH reports.

Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, Akpeyi, who was making his second start of the season after obtaining a new South African work permit conceded three goals against bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-final on Saturday.

His compatriot, Okoye, also conceded four goals on his Eredivisie debut for Sparta Rotterdam who lost 4-1 to Heerenveen on Sunday.

Incidentally, this is not the first time the 21-year-old was conceding four goals in a game.

Okoye, had conceded four goals in a Regionalliga division (a fourth-tier league in German football) while in action for Fortuna Dusseldorf II, who lost 4-2 to Borussia Dortmund II in 2019.

In Spain’s second tier division, Kenneth Omeruo played for 49 minutes and was replaced by Roberto Rosales due to injury in Leganes 1-0 win over Mirandes at the Estadio Municipal de Burtaque on Sunday.

The 27-year-old has made seven league appearances for Leganes this season.

In Belgium, Nigerian forward Paul Mukairu scored on his debut for Anderlecht who edged Royal Antwerp 1-0 in a Belgian Jupiler game on Sunday.

Mukairu was introduced in the 63rd minute and grabbed the match winner 13 minutes later.

The 20-year-old striker is on a season-long loan from Turkish club Antalayaspor.

Paul Onuachu scored his ninth goal of the season for Genk who beat KAS Eupen 4-0 on Friday.

His compatriot Cyriel Dessers grabbed his third goal of the season in the encounter.

In Italy, Simy Nwankwo scored his third Serie A goal of the season for Crotone who lost 2-1 to Atalanta.

‘Simy’ pulled a goal back for Crotone five minutes from the break after the visitors had scored twice.

Crotone are bottom of the standings with a solitary point after they lost five of their six matches.

Last season, the striker made history when he became the first African to top score in the Italian Serie B with 20 goals.
