The top four races in England and Italy are set for fascinating conclusions on Sunday.

Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy hope to help Chelsea end in the Champions League spots, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have the same goal for Liverpool.

In Serie A, Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie need a huge win at Atalanta to guarantee a return to Europe’s most prestigious competition for the first time since 2013.

Riyad Mahrez

After Manchester City’s disappointing 3-2 defeat by Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, Mahrez and his teammates will want to end the year on a high against Everton.

With Pep Guardiola’s team to end the afternoon with the trophy lift in front of their supporters, there’s likely to be a response from their defeat at the Amex.

Success for the Cityzens will take them to 86 points, the lowest tally in Pep’s three title-winning campaigns.

Ziyech & Mendy

While Man City lifting the title will attract interest, the top four race in the Premier League offers even more excitement going into the final day.

Edouard Mendy is expected to feature for Chelsea when they travel to Aston Villa requiring a victory to guarantee another campaign among Europe’s elite.

It remains to be seen if Hakim Ziyech plays at Villa Park having underwhelmed in the FA Cup final defeat at Wembley which saw him dropped against Leicester City on Tuesday.

Salah & Mane

Liverpool definitely have momentum and their 3-0 victory over Burnley on Wednesday saw them replace Leicester City in the top four.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ought to feature when Jurgen Klopp’s team host Crystal Palace at Anfield knowing they need a win to avoid the ignominy of a fifth-place finish this term.

With Salah still in the race for the Golden Boot (he’s tied with Harry Kane on 22 goals), the Egypt star will want to claim his third top scorer award in just four years.

Kessie & Bennacer

AC Milan’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Cagliari last time out means they head to their final encounter at Atalanta requiring a win over the Bergamo outfit to pip Juventus to a Champions League spot.

Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer should play at the Gewiss Stadium with Stefano Pioli’s top four hopes in the balance.

With Juve set to host Bologna and Napoli to play Hellas Verona, the Milan giants can’t afford to drop points against Gian Piero Gasperini’s troops.

Idrissa Gueye

Paris Saint-Germain were handed a slim Ligue 1 lifeline on the penultimate gameweek of the campaign when Lille dropped points at home vs Saint-Etienne.

PSG beat Reims 4-0 which put them one point behind the league leaders heading into gameweek 38 of the French top flight.

Gueye was rested in that encounter — with Mauricio Pochettino keeping him fresh for the Coupe de France final vs Monaco, won 2-0 by the Parisians — but the midfielder should return for their important final fixture at Brest.

The Senegal star and his teammates need to win their game and hope Angers do them a favour against Lille to win a fourth successive title.
