Actor Yul Edochie
Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has advised Nigerians ahead of the governorship election to check the validity of information before sharing it on social media.
On his Twitter page, he noted that several people took to the internet during the presidential election to share information without fact-checking it for authenticity.
He said, as a result of this a lot of false information was spread on social media.
As the gubernatorial election approaches, Yul Edochie cautioned Nigerians to beware of whatever they are sharing online.
His tweet read: “Any information you see about the election, pls confirm the authenticity before you post or repost. So much fake news flying around. Some people sit in their homes, create stuff & post it as news. Such could set our country ablaze. Pls, verify before posting or reposting.”
