UK-based Nigerian content creator and digital marketer, Precious Ubani, has urged fellow countrymen who have traveled outside not to be discouraged from visiting Nigeria despite the ongoing concerns about the country's insecurity.

In a message shared on her Instagram page, Ubani wrote:

“Please don’t let people scare you from Nigeria ooo. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s not as scary—just be cautious. I took my in-laws to the East, to Lagos; we moved around without security most of the time, and we were fine. This is your sig,n sha, but be careful.”

Her statement accompanied a viral video showing her husband and in-laws’ recent visit to Nigeria, a trip she organized to challenge negative perceptions about the country’s safety.

The post quickly gained traction, amassing over 13,900 likes and 420 comments, with many applauding her effort to reshape perceptions about Nigeria.

Background:

Nigeria has recently been making headlines due to the incessant attacks and alleged killings of residents by bandits in various hideouts. These attacks have given Nigeria a bad reputation as a country plagued by insecurity and unsafe to live in.

Amidst this controversy, American President Donald Trump recently announced his intention to deploy soldiers to Nigeria, citing the attacks and killings of innocent Christian communities.

However, the content creator's recent post has sparked widespread debate and conversations among residents and followers.
