Energy analysts say partnerships of this scale could help diversify Africa's power mix
Chief Executive of Kambic Industrial Partners, John Kaku Mason, has secured a strategic partnership with India-based Greenesol Power System Pvt. Ltd. as part of efforts to attract major Indian energy infrastructure developers to Ghana and other African markets.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies, Kambic and Greenesol will jointly develop biomass and waste-to-energy power projects, starting with a proposed 100-megawatt bamboo-fired biomass power plant in Ghana.
The agreement follows a series of meetings in India led by John Kaku Mason to court long-term strategic partners for large-scale sustainable energy infrastructure development across Africa.
Greenesol Power System is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company specialising in biomass, solid-waste-to-energy, and environmental protection technologies. The company has delivered power generation projects in several countries and recently completed one of the world’s largest waste-to-energy plants in Hyderabad, India.
Kambic Industrial Partners is an Africa-focused industrial development company with interests spanning energy, mining, agriculture, and infrastructure. It is also developing a bio-refinery complex in Ghana’s Eastern Region to produce ethanol, sustainable aviation fuel, energy pellets, and other bio-based products.
Energy analysts say partnerships of this scale could help diversify Africa’s power mix, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and position Ghana as a regional hub for renewable energy development.
