Belle Yemofio puts Ghana on global design map with Milan Award win

Renowned Ghanaian interior designer Belle Yemofio, Founder and Creative Director of EllenDavis Interior Design and author of The Art and Science of Interior Design, has received international acclaim after winning the Italy International Design Award (IIDA) in Milan.

Her project, The Curve Residence, was awarded the Professional Award for Residential Space in the Innovation Award Category, one of the most prestigious accolades of the competition, following assessment by a distinguished panel of international design experts.

The IIDA is widely recognised as a global benchmark for contemporary design excellence. The award celebrates innovation in form, aesthetics, and functionality, attracting the world’s most creative designers and studios.

The Curve Residence

The project impressed judges with its seamless blend of modern sophistication and practical living. The Curve Residence embodies Belle Yemofio’s deep understanding of spatial harmony, materiality, and user experience. Through meticulous detailing and a refined design language, the residence communicates a contemporary African narrative while appealing to global sensibilities.

A Landmark for African Design

This accomplishment is a milestone for Belle Yemofio and for Ghana’s design industry. It highlights the growing presence of African designers on the international stage and underscores the importance of storytelling in design.
