A Member of the Global Governing Council and Director for Legal, International Negotiations and Strategic Communications of the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network, Nana Freduah Agyeman Osborn, ESQ, has paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary for Gender in Zambia, Honourable Mainga D. Kabika, at the Government Complex in Lusaka.
The high-level meeting forms part of a nine-day diplomatic mission undertaken by the YAWC Network to deepen Pan-African partnerships with key government officials, civil society organisations, and development stakeholders in Zambia and Zimbabwe, ahead of the organisation's landmark 10th Anniversary.
During the meeting, Nana Freduah Agyeman Osborn presented the YAWC Network's vision of empowering women through advocacy, strategic collaboration, and capacity-building programmes across Africa and the diaspora.
He briefed the Permanent Secretary on the active presence of the Zambia Chapter of the Network, and stressed the importance of a robust government-YAWC partnership to advance the cause of women's empowerment in the country.
Nana Freduah Agyeman also extended a formal invitation to the Permanent Secretary and the Government of Zambia to participate in the climax of the 10th Anniversary celebrations — the YAWC 2026 Annual Global Convocation, scheduled for October 2026 in Accra, Ghana.
The Permanent Secretary, Honourable Mainga D. Kabika, warmly welcomed the YAWC delegation and commended the organisation's initiative.
She underscored the Government's firm commitment to gender equality and highlighted the strategic role of the Gender Division under the Office of the President.
The Permanent Secretary expressed the Government's readiness to collaborate with and support the YAWC Network's mission in Zambia.
Nana Freduah Agyeman was accompanied on the visit by the President of the Zambia Chapter of the YAWC Network, Christabel Mukefuwa Bwalya, and Media Liaison Officer Joan Malama Kambe.
