Business leader and Group Chief Executive Officer of the Prebbie Group, Mr. Kafui Prebbie
Business leader and Group Chief Executive Officer of the Prebbie Group, Kafui Prebbie, has called for greater collaboration among leaders, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers to address Africa’s growing development challenges and create sustainable opportunities for young people.
Speaking at the Impact Leaders Breakfast 2026 (ILB 2026) on August 12, 2026, Prebbie stressed that Africa's future depends on ethical leadership, entrepreneurship and strategic investment, describing the three areas as critical pillars for driving economic growth and social transformation across the continent.
The event, organised by IMPLEMENTERS under the theme, "Leading Together With Global Insights For Local Impact," brought together business executives, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs and development leaders to discuss practical solutions for empowering young Africans and strengthening local economies.
Prebbie, who is also the Convener of the Impact Leaders Breakfast, explained that the initiative was born out of a desire to use his birthday celebrations to create meaningful impact in society.
"Every year on August 12, we bring together leaders and friends who are making a difference in society. The objective is to create a platform where leadership, entrepreneurship and investment can come together to address the needs of Africa," he said.
According to him, the programme seeks to develop ethical leaders, support aspiring entrepreneurs and connect promising young innovators with investors who can help scale their businesses.
"We need African leaders who are ethical and visionary. We also need to encourage entrepreneurship and create opportunities for young people to start and grow businesses. Beyond that, we must build strong investment ecosystems that support these entrepreneurs to succeed," he noted.
Touching on the growing influence of technology and artificial intelligence, Prebbie encouraged young people to embrace innovation while maintaining strong ethical values.
"In today's world, artificial intelligence can help write business plans, improve productivity and support decision-making. Technology is not replacing people; it is enabling people to work faster and smarter. The real challenge is learning how to use these tools responsibly and effectively," he stated.
He added that success in the modern business environment requires self-leadership, discipline and the ability to collaborate with others.
"In this century, we are competing with speed. It is not only about what you know but how quickly and ethically you can deliver value. Collaboration is essential because no one can achieve great things alone," he said.
Also speaking at the event, Co-founder of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, Rev Albert Ocran, challenged young people to take advantage of the opportunities available to their generation.
He observed that today's youth have access to advanced technology, artificial intelligence and digital tools that were unavailable to previous generations.
"When we were growing up, there was no AI and many of the technological resources available today. Yet we were able to achieve significant milestones. Young people today are smart, ambitious and innovative. They should take full advantage of the opportunities before them and pursue their dreams with confidence," Rev Ocran said.
He assured young entrepreneurs and aspiring leaders of continued support from experienced professionals and mentors.
"Do not try to become copies of our generation. Build your own dreams. We will support you, challenge you, pray for you and encourage you to achieve the big things you desire," he added.
