8 Ghanaians for Paralympics in Greece

Eight physically challenged Ghanaian athletes have been selected to participate in the forthcoming Paralympics Games scheduled for Greece.

A statement signed by Mr William Agbeti, Executive Administrator, Echoing Hills Village of Ghana said the trip is being organised in conjunction with Joni Friends Ministries, a California-based disability outreached programme of the Mrs Joni Eareckson Tada.


The statement said plans for a sponsorship for the country's participants will be made known to the public on March 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It said the eight were carefully selected by Jean Driscoll, a multi-paralympic medallist, would demonstrate their ability in armchair sports at the stadium on the meeting day.


The meeting is expected to be attended by representatives of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Man power and Economic Development, National Sports Council, Echoing Hills Village Inc and Joni Friends Ministries.
