Sprinter Aziz Zakari of Ghana was suspended by the track and field's world governing body Wednesday after a positive drug test.
Zakari tested positive for the steroid stanozolol at the Grand Prix in Dakar, Senegal, on April 29, said IAAF spokesman Nick Davies.
The 29-year-old Zakari has a career-best time of 9.99 seconds in the 100. He made the 100 final at the 2004 Athens Olympics, but did not finish.
Stanozolol is the same drug Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson tested positive for at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
