Five records were broken in the Central Region Zone One Inter-Schools athletics competition held at the Adisadel College Sports Grounds.
Theodora Acquah of Edinaman Senior High School broke the triple jump record with a leap of 10.24 metres to erase the previous record of 9.93 metres.
She also set a new record in the 100 metres hurdles in a time of 17.5 secs against the previous record of 18.67 secs while Edna Yarboi of Mfantsiman SHS, who was the best athlete in the Girls division broke the 400 metres race in 1 min.03 secs against the previous record of 1 min. 04 secs.
Edna Yarboi also broke the 400 metres hurdles in 1 min 10.1secs, against the previous record of 1 mins.17secs and anchored her team to break the 4×400 metres relay race in 4mins.27.5secs against the previous record of 4mins.35.5secs.
Adisadel SHS came first with 174 and half points followed by Aggrey Memorial Zion with 107 points, Edinaman SHS came third with 87 and half points while Academy of Christ the King came fourth with 83 and half points.
Cape Coast Technical Institute took the 5th position with 75 points, Ghana National was 6th with 58 points while Eguafo SHS and Abruaman took the seventh and eight positions respectively with 39 and half points and 27 points respectively.
In the Girls division, Aggrey Memorial Zion SHS bagged 136 and half points to lift the championship trophy.
Edinaman SHS came second with 120 and half points , Ghana National third with 118 points, Mfantsiman fourth with 100 points while Academy of Christ the King came 5th with 64 points.
Certificates and cash prizes were presented to deserving athletes.
