Junior Olympian, Martha Bissah will headline the upcoming Ghana Athletics Open Championship scheduled to take place on April 11, at the EL Wak sports Stadium.
Bissah will for the first time be on the track amidst difficulties and differences with the Ghana Athletics Association and her Coach Nii Odartey Lamptey.
Though no Ghanaian foreign-based athlete will be available for the open championship, exciting Ghanaian local athletes will be competing to sharpen up for international competitions.
The Open Championship, according to a member of the Ghana Athletics Association, Mark Dzradosi, will equip the athletes for the upcoming All African Games and other international competitions.
“This is open to athletes in Ghana from the age of 7 to 99, this is part of our preparations towards international championships and talent development.
“Locals are gearing up to reply their foreign athletes who have put out amazing performances, we the hope to continue the trend from last year.”
