NPC to organise empowerment workshop for athletes

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC), will organise a three-day workshop to empower athletes as part of the measures to promote paralympic movement in Ghana.

The workshop fixed for 24-25, July, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, will seek to provide opportunity for athletes to enhance their knowledge on paralympic movement.

Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the NPC, told the GNA Sports that, participants will be taken through the history of paralympic sports and paralympic movement, classification and qualification to the Paralympic Games.

According to him, the workshop will also provide opportunity for athletes to undergo trials at the Baba Yara Stadium, as part of the selection process for the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo.
