...Discrimination: $1000 for Meteors; $0 For Others
...Other Disciplines Up In Arms

Andrew Owusu won Ghana's first gold at the African games in Nigeria in the triple jump on saturday (16.41m) in a competition that was made all the more difficult due to a thunder storm during the 5th and 6th rounds.

Owusu left the US sick (flu) on Thursday (9th) night knowing that he was supposed to compete on the 14th. He got there on the 11th at 4.55am after a 12 hour transit in London. At the airport he was told he was scheduled to compete that afternoon.

"I thought I was doomed giving that my asthma was acting up. Well at least i managed to win." Owusu said

Other News

All the other diciplines are up in arms after discovering that the football players were paid $1000 each for drawing during their first match. They were paid $4000 each for just making it to the semi-final round when other medalist are yet to recieved a dime. Some disciplince are planning to quit competing to let the minister know that they will not accept "2nd Class status" when each medal is worth the same no matter the sport.

The new slogan is " We refuse to be treated as 2nd class sportsmen/women: Each medal is worth the same"

THere will probably be a press conference here today.
