The biggest match of this weekend’s basketball games was not disappointing. It more than normal regulation time to decide the winner between After 7 and Tudu Wizards.

After 7’s game strategy was not different from what they used against Yotive. The went inside and got Wizards into foul trouble. The Wizards over aggressive play also allowed the savvy veterans also add to their foul woes.

In third quarter, Wizards seem to have control of the game and led by as many as ten points but the savvy veterans rallied back in the forth and that was when the foul status proved essential. After seven ended the game strong and led 57 –55 with Kojo Duodu and Charles Okai scoring the last for points of regulation time with a three and a free throw respectively. Wizards managed to tie the game with a fast break just before the final whistle.

After 7 continued their foul strategy in overtime and Wizards found all but one of their starters disqualified. Indeed they ended the game with just four players scoring only 2 points in overtime as against After 7’s 12. Final scores were 69 – 59 in favour of After 7.

In other games, Reformer point guard Agbesi hit a crunch three pointer to give Yotive their first loss of this year’s league.

On Friday, Yotive beat Fire Service and Magic lost to Warriors.

The league continues on Wednesday.
