Some action from the Basketball Festival
Later today at the Bukom Arena in Ghana’s capital, Accra Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC Legon) renews its rivalry against St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School.
The teams clash at the Arena at 15:00 GMT as one of several activities prior to the All-Star Game between Tema and Accra at the Africa Basketball Festival.
PRESEC and Aquinas faced off in the Accra Mayor’s Cup Final in November this year at the same venue; Legon beat Aquinas 33-20 to lift the trophy.
The winner in today’s contest takes on the winner in the Tema Senior High School-Chemu Senior High School clash. PRESEC and St. Thomas Aquinas was among eight schools that participated in the Arena’s first basketball competition.
However, none of the participating teams in today’s mini-tournament qualified to compete in next year’s Sprite Ball Championship.
A three-point shooting contest, ladies free-throw shooting contest and slam dunk contest involving members of Tema and Accra will take place before the main event tips off.
