Police today beat Nima Flames 52 – 49 to claim their first win in two matches of the 2003 league.
In a keenly contested game that saw several lead changes in the fourth quarter, the game became more of a mind game with both teams having to shoot free throws to earn their points. With barely two minutes left in the game and Police up by a point, Flames tightened their man- to- man defense but Police point guard Anthony’s miracle back board shot with a defender in his face gave them the three point lead they required to win the game.
The league takes a break this weekend as Braves of CEPS play yet another international friendly tomorrow against Atletic Pour of Cote D’Ivoire at the Lebanon House tomorrow
