Braves clinch important win in GSP marquee game

Suncity Braves have clinched an all important win over Desert Rabbits to inch closer to a second GSP Basketball League title. The team beat Rabbits 38-35 in the big game over the past weekend at the Eusbett Court in Sunyani to maintain its lead in the standings.

Both teams alongside University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) headed to Week 13 games on 22 points from 10 wins in 12 games.

By beating Rabbits, 2016 league champions Braves move to 24 points with four games remaining in the season; UENR joins Braves on 24 points.

The tertiary institution obliterated Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 83-16 to condemn Saints to just a win in 13 games played.

UENR beat Braves to win last season’s Championship and the two sides are neck and neck in the race for this season’s title.

Barracks Scorpions lost 20-29 to Sunyani Technical University with the latter maintaining fifth place while LIR Royals earned a walkover win over WestSiders after Westsiders failed to show up for the game.
