Celebrated Ghanaian boxer, Bukom Banku, has settled on the year in which he would retire.
He revealed that he would retire from the sport in the year 2021. Banku was stopped in the 7th round in the fight with Samir Bastie on Saturday 21st October, 2017 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
According to him, “I have not retired yet. I have four more years to retire. I have decided to ignore the insults from people because I don’t want those negative comments to affect me,” Banku has refuted speculations that his loss in the fight fueled his decision to consider retirement.
He went ahead to confirm that he received GHc50,000 as his reward for the fight. He stated that he is looking forward to rematch with Samir on December 6, 2017.
Bukom Banku was recently in the news for mentioning the names of two persons who inspired him to bleach his skin.
