Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Accra Technical University (ATU) have qualified to the semifinals of the 2019 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

KNUST won all three games to top Group B today at the University of Ghana (UG) Central Court at the quarterfinal stage of this year’s UPAC Championship.

The Kumasi based institution beat Radford University College 43-40 in the last round of games to stay unbeaten in this year’s competition. KNUST beat ATU and Marshalls University College in the prior games.

KNUST won all three games at the zonal level to top Zone 5 last month and is scheduled to play Takoradi Technical University (TTU) in the semifinals. TTU placed second in Group A.

Two time winners ATU will face arch nemesis University of Ghana in the first semifinal on Saturday, April 13 at 9:00am after beating Marshalls University 32-27.

The clash is a repeat of the 2016 and 2018 UPAC Final game.

This year’s UPAC is sponsored by CAL Bank and MTN.
