Accra, Sept. 27, GNA – Four communities have made it to last four of the 2011 Indomie Community Basketball competition, after months of search for the top spots in the annual event.
The four communities made up of Ashaiman, Kaneshie, Nima-Mamobi and Dansoman, will engage each other in gruelling semi-final games on Saturday, October 1, as well as the finals at the Aviation Social Center, Accra.
According to the organizers, Rite Multimedia, the competition, which is dubbed “Indomie Community Dunks”, would see Dansoman play Ashaiman in the first semi finals duel, whilst defending Champions, Kanehie take on Nima-Mamobi in the second semi-finals game.
Winners of the semi-final matches would vie for the ultimate on the day to determine the winner of the third edition of the “Indomie Community Dunks”.
The event meant to unearth talents in the sport, as well as promote basketball in the various communities would be witnessed by the Chairman of the Greater Accra Basketball Association, the President of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBA), officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
According to the organizers, they are looking up to a memorable event since the participating communities have over the past weeks been preparing feverishly for the semi and final stages of the competition.
