Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa
Terrorism and insecurity na one of di challenges wey Nigeria dey face and di Chief of Defence staff don tok wetin im sabi about di pipo wey dey sponsor terrorism and wetin citizens fit do to protect diasef.
Di Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa tok on Thursday for Channels Television Politics Today programme wey say di security situation don dey beta for di South-East.
Nigeria don dey witness renewed terror attacks for North recently.
But di Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa link di recent attacks to many tins including preparation for di 2027 general election.
"Criminals, both bandits and terrorists dey work togeda. Dem get common goal to make money and destabilise communities. But a political angle also dey," e tok.
E add say, "Some pipo no want peace becos wen peace dey, pipo go see say goment dey do well and wen peace no dey, di conclusion go be say goment dey fail."
"Last year, we record di lowest number of deaths. How come di tin suddenly go up dis year. Politics dey come, election dey come."
Im also tok about how Nigerians fit protect demsefs against jaguda pipo. See di tins im tok about here:
'Southeast don beta afta Simon Ekpa arrest'
General Christopher Musa say dem still dey prosecute di pro-Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa, wey dem bin arrest for Finland for November 2024.
Dem bin arrest am for terrorism-related offences, and na di authorities for Finland dey prosecute am.
According to di defence oga, small peace don dey for di south-east region since dem arrest Ekpa last November.
Im explain say dem don activate di operation of troops wey go catch all Ekpa strong men for Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi and Abia states for di Southeast geopolitical zone.
"Him (Ekpa) still dey undergo prosecution for Finland. So, we dey hopeful. Wen we tok about am, pipo bin tink say we dey make noise, but since dem arrest am, di Southeast don dey beta.
"We go pursue im type, anywia dem dey, and anytin e go take until we bring dem down.
"Na why di Ansaru (leader arrest) na good win for all of us. Oda ones still dey wey we no dey tok about, we go also chook eye for dem and pull dem out."
Last week di National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu announce say dem gbab Ansaru terrorist commanders.
Musa also describe am as significant, im add say na beta planning wey di Nigerian Air Force, di Nigerian Army and di Nigerian Navy do wen dem go into di operation na im lead to dis success.
"Wetin don change be say we get collabo with all di organisations… and na why we don see all dis success."
Terrorists dey use Gold to sponsor operations
General Musa say terrorists for Nigeria dey use gold well-well as means to sponsor dia operations.
Im explain say dis terror sponsors dey rely on complex networks, wey include international connections, and e dey make am difficult to immediately expose or drag dem go court.
Oga CDS say na "Gold. Dem dey try to circulate dis money, and na why e dey important for us to track dis tins.
"Di process dey on. E dey attached to plenti legal issues, and becos e dey connected wit international connections, some of dem get funds wey dey come from outside, we no go fit do anytin from within."
Im confam say di bad road networks and difficult terrains dey limit di ability of di military to respond sharp-sharp to terror and bandit attacks across Nigeria.
General Musa say many Nigerians dey expect sharp-sharp intervention from members of di Armed Forces but dem no understand di challenge wey dey involved wit logistics.
"Many pipo dey tink say(members of) di military na magicians; we no be magicians, we be humans just like anybody. Most times, for dis areas wia attacks dey happun, sometimes no network or di roads dey veri bad.
Make evri Nigerian learn fighting skills for self-defence
Di Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) for Nigeria, General Christopher Musa, advise Nigerians to learn fighting skills wey dem fit use protect demsefs wen kasala burst.
Im say if pipo sabi fighting skills like martial arts, Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo plus driving, swimming and oda skill wey fit help pipo survive e go help well-well.
Im tok say di way Nigerians dey learn how to drive and how to swim na so dem suppose learn how to fight for self defence and e no mata weda war dey come or not.
"In Europe, swimming dey compulsory. Learning and teaching about security dey compulsory becos you need to learn wetin security be."
Im add say di National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme suppose to train Nigerian graduates on fighting skills wey no need arms for dia evriday survival against jaguda pipo.
"Na wetin di NYSC suppose to do, but dem don water down NYSC to three weeks."
