Afta I discover say I don lose my eye, e bin pain me say I no go look like bifor." Na so Idris Badamasi tok as e look back to di journey of how e take lose im eye and begin dey use prosthetic - artificial - one.

Idris bin dey involved in one armed robbery case on di 3rd of March 2022.

E bin engage di robbers to try to protect im family, na di gbege wey happun during di encounter lead to di loss of im eye.

How Idris lose im eye

Na wen e stand up to go check wetin dey happun e jam di robbers.

"As I open di door, I come see say na armed robbers dey harrass di girl wey bin dey stay wit us dat time. "

E say di robbers later gain entry into di house, jam am and begin dey wipe am with cutlass.

"I decide to fight back since I know say I go die dis night.

I pursue dem comot parlour reach outside, na dia I jam di odas come realise say dem no be just di three but dem plenty wey come di house dat night.

Na im dem start to dey wipe me for head to my toes, my neck. Anoda one hit me for eye, na im I kon fall for ground. Na dia I get di injury for my eye.

Idris journey to prosthetic eye



Idris currently dey wear prosthetic eye.

E say e bin get hope bifor say dem go fit fix im eye but after e visit like six hospitals for Abuja, dem tell am say im eye don go make e find way get prosthetic eye.

"I meet di doctor, e kon tell me about prosthetic eye. Say make I get di customised one.

"Dis na di prosthetic eye, afta I don clean am, I go kon put am like dis, e no dey difficult like dat, just one push like dis, you see, e don enta.

So afta I put am, I go wear my glasses make my eye fit dey okay.

"I fit wear am go anywia, I fit sleep, I fit sleep wit am, I fit do plenti tins wit am.

But Idris say di prosthetic eye come wit challenges.

"If I no take care of di eye e go dey irritate me, e go dey scratch me.

“And I no like dose kain scratches for my face,” e tok.

Idris say im journey na still ongoing and im never heal finish.

"My journey to heal na long and difficult one. I still dey heal.”

E bin dey difficult for di early process of di tin.

“But l dey try accept wetin don come to me. So I fit move ahead and ok.

“My message to anyone like me, wey dey physically challenged na to do wetin go make you happy,” Idris tok.
