Di Federal High Court Abuja don deny di application to transfer Nnamdi Kanu, leader of di Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to di National Hospital.

Justice James Omotosho give dis ruling on Thursday based on di report by di Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) wey tok say Kanu dey fit enough to stand trial.

According to di report, di NMA say dia evaluation show say di health conditions wey Kanu get no dey life threatening and di medical facility for di premises of di Department of State Services, DSS, dey equipped enough to treat am.

For court dis Thursday, Adegboyega Awomolo wey be counsel to di federal govment say dem file di NMA report on 13 October, and dem also serve di defense team on di same date.

Kanu Agabi wey be Nnamdi Kanu lead counsel confirm say dem receive di report and dem don read am.

Justice Omotosho den tok say im go rely on di report and hold say di defendant dey fit enough to enta im defence.

E say im go grant di defense team di same six days wey e bin grant di prosecution, and e go be six days back to back.

However, Kanu Agabi beg di court to fix one day for dem and dia client, Kanu, to come to di court and talk in order to prepare for dia defence.

E say dem dey fear say anytin wey dem dey tok for di DSS facility no dey private and di DSS dey eavesdrop on dem.

Di judge agree and give dem on Wednesday, 22 October, 2025 between 9:00am and 1:00pm Omotosho say e go clear im court within dis time to allow only Nnamdi Kanu and im counsels to talk in private.

Di trial judge den fix Thursday 23 October for Kanu to start im defence, and di mata go last six days - 23, 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30 October .

.Chronic kidney disease stage 3A secondary to hypertension/Benign Prostatic

.Obstructive Nephropathy Secondary to Benign Prostatic Enlargement (BPE)

.Cervical Spondyloradiculopathy

.Bilateral Axillary Lipoma

.Chronic Rhinosinusitis with nasa septal deviation

For dia recommendation, di NMA panel recommend some medications for Kanu and also tok say make e discontinue some medications wey e bin dey take.

Dem also recommend among oda tins:

.Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) + Septoplasty and Turbinoplasty

.Excision biopsy of axillary lipoma

.Cytoscopy and Uroflowmetry

.Cervical spine MRI and

.Relieve of bladder outlet obstruction

In summary, di report say: "Di condition of di patient and di evaluation as at di date of our examination 23rd September, 2025, no appear life-threatening nor incapacitation for am to dey tried following our medical recommendation for di health improvement of di patient."

About di DSS medical centre, di NMA report say "di facility dey well equipped to treat di medical conditions of di patient...but di facility go need additional support of equipment and professionals to perform di recommended surgical procedures as stated for our recommendation".
