Former national weightlifting champion Fetrie loses mum

Accra, May 31, GNA - Burial of Madam Rose Kpodo would take place on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Ablekuma Cemetery.

Madam Kpodo 60, who died on April 23, 2011 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, was the mother of Bernard Fetrie, former national weightlifting champion and captain of Ghana's team to the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Australia.


According to a family source, there will be no wake-keeping but filing past of the body will take place on Saturday morning from 7 a.m =96 08.30 a.m at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Anyaa thence to the Ablekuma Cemetery for final burial.


Final funeral rites will follow immediately after the burial at the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Anyaa.

Memorial Thanksgiving Service will take place on Sunday, June 19 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Anyaa at 9.a.m. Madam Kpodo was also the mother of Ms Comfort Sena Fetrie, photo journalist of the Ghana News Agency.
