Agave Development Association - UK (ADA) could not have asked for a better weather for their fund raising on 21st February 2009 bearing in mind the unpredictable weather in UK on 02/02/09 when heavy snow brought e.g economic activities, transport and communication to a total STOP and chaos!. According to the weather records, the unpredicted heavy snow 02/02/09 was the worse experience for over 18 years in UK.   It was a lovely day and Mr Frank Agbloe( Chairman Fund Raising Committee) and his team organised the event to the best execution. The atmosphere was cordial, relaxing and it was a participative night.

The event was organised to raise funds towards basic education in Agave District.

Attendance was good despite the unpredictable weather. The even was chaired by Mr Kofi Agbolegbe ( JP and currently Chairman of NOVIHA UK). Also in attendance was Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah ( councillor Education) representing the Ghana High Commissioner UK & Ireland.   The chairman of ADA Mr Kabu Charway in his welcome address stressed on the importance of both formal and informal education. He emphasised on the need for individuals, parents, society our leaders and social groups to show commitment and responsibility in investing in educating our future bread winners for the family, good citizens and leaders for our communities and our country.

There was a film show to show where, what and how the donors money has been spent. This is encouraging gesture to show  ADA's commitment to accountability to the donor public. A section of the film showed a film project organised by Shelly Telly in which pupils within Agave District were given their fight time opportunity to handle and learn basic skills and techniques in film production. The pupils interviewed both traditional and government leaders, teachers youth, religious and community leaders on topics of interest and importance.   The ADA's free house magazine, 'DUMENYA' was full of interesting articles for the readers. There was plenty to eat and drink and an opportunity to taste the lovely Ghanaian dishes. Music
