Agave Development Association UK.

The Agave Development Association(ADA) in UK held a fund raising dinner dance at The Royal Imperial Hotel, Elizabethan Hall at London Russell Square on 30th April 2011 for the provision of furniture and other health accessories for the hospitals, clinics and health centres in the Agave district.

In his short address, the chairman of the Association, Mr Kabu Charway warmly welcomed the guests, thanked them for their support and enthusiasm in joining the members of Agave Development Association to raise funds together. He also thanked all those who supported the association in past in enhancing the achievements of Agave Development Association. Mr Charway stressed on the positive therapeutic effect furniture and other hospital accessories have on improving the health of the patients especially whilst they are anxiously waiting to see the clinicians or other hospital staff for treatment or consultation. He said that a good environment always is part of the formula for cure.

Mr Charway said that he would continue to uphold the ‘spirit of accountability and transparency’ by ensuring that money donated to the ADA is accounted for. Mr Charway thanked members of the Association for their commitment and his executive for their continuous support in working towards a common aim..

The chairman for the occasion, Mr William Boateng, a retired Ghanaian accountant appealed all to support Agave Development’s efforts in raising funds to improve the quality of treatment in the Agave District.

The Ghana High Commissioner for UK & Ireland, Prof. Kwaku Danso- Boafo who also graced the occasion stressed on the importance of nation building. He appealed to all for positive contributions for the socio/economic advancement for Ghana. Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo applauded the efforts of Agave Development Association in helping the needy, particularly, the sick in Agave District and Ghana in general.

Mr Charles Kagatse (87yrs old) the, oldest member of the Association received a distinguished award. Mr Charles Kagatse was the first treasurer of the Association and served in same capacity until recently. Mr Charles Kagatse served and discharged his duties with excellence. He remains a member of the Council of Elders.

Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh, Ghana Chaplain also present and opened the event with prayers and blessings. As a sign of respect a minute silence was observed for the Awormefia of Agave, Togbega Axazie Degenu III who was given a state burial on Saturday 16th April 2011. May He Rest In Peace.
