Ajumako Hospital receives equipment

Ajumako (C/R), March 29, GNA - The Ajumako District Hospital on Saturday received A38660 worth of equipment from a Ghanaian resident in Essex, United Kingdom, Mrs Flyvia Impram.

The items which were consigned through the District Chief Executive for Ajumako, Mr Peter Light Koomson by Madam Flyvia, include 40 hospital beds (wood/metal), clinical room fridge, medicine trolley (metal), glove holders, curtains, fuction machine, among others. The presentation ceremony took place at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Ajumako Campus Park where it coincided with a grand durbar of chiefs and people from Central, Western and Ashanti Regions to climax the 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration of Okokodurfo Gyeabo Nana Kwamena Hammah Ababio II, Omanhen of Ajumako Traditional Area.

The District Director of the Ghana Health Service, Madam Doris Ahelegbe who received the items on behalf of the hospital, thanked the donor for her kind gesture and assured that the items would be judiciously utilized.

Madam Ahelegbe appealed to other philanthropists and citizens far and near to come to the aid of the new hospital in the area of water (borehole), standby generator, and accommodation, among others. Present at the function were Madam Ama Benyiwa-Doe, Central Regional Minister; Mr Ato Forson, local MP; Mr Peter Light Koomson, DCE and Mrs Padmore Dadzie, mother of Flyvia Impram.

Mrs Dadzie said her daughter was prepared to send more of such items if the Assembly and other philanthropists could pay for local cost of freight, insurance and other charges.
