Chicago, the windy city of the Midwest will be buzzing and sizzling hot with the most extraordinary and largest attended Ghanaian Cultural Festival in the Diaspora on Saturday, July 28 2012 at the historic Washington Park. The weather forecast for Saturday is ideal and perfect for an outdoor event such as Ghanafest. Chicagoans will relish sunny 81 degrees. Last minute planners are advised to pack their bags and head towards Chicago for the elegant fanfare that awaits them at Ghanafest 2012. Treat this day as a day of opportunity to mingle and exchange greetings with past school mates and friends you have not seen for a very, very long time.
This year’s celebration is packed with exciting activities for the family. A cultural treat your family will forever remember.Adowa , Borborbor and other Ghanaian music and dance on display are cultural, aesthetic, artistic, and stylish. The dancers will mesmeric a spectator into an awe of stock-still; enjoying the amazing twists and turns to traditional drums and songs. The older Ghanaian generation will reminisce the live cultural performance with nostalgia. The children or second generation of Ghanaians ,especially, those who have not seen their ancestral cultural performance live will go home richer in knowledge of their parents’ rich cultural heritage. An experience that will imbibe in them an everlasting memory and a connection with their roots!
Don't miss the opportunity to find out why so many people gather in Chicago every year to experience the phenomenon called GHANAFEST, the first and original which keeps growing and entertaining every year!
As Usual, the organizers have lined up a number of Dignitaries to grace to occasion. The latest includes, the Governor of the state of Illinois, Pat Quinn and the Mayor of the Chicago and former chief of staff for President Barack Obama, Rahm Israel Emanuel. The mantra this year is, less talk more fun!
Mr. CNN, will ably be supported by Selassie Hadzide to cover the festival for Ghanaweb International and 3gmediaonline.com. Other media covering the festival includes, The Ghanaian Chicago's only "mouth piece" The African Spectrum. Members of the public who patronize Ghanafest raffle tickets will have a lot of items to try their luck on this year. A giant 46 inch flat TV and other enticing items are prizes waiting to be won.
