Ghana Diaspora Public Affairs Collective (GHPAC) has honoured Her Excellency Ambassador Alima Mahama (Hajia) with a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her outstanding contribution and dedication throughout her illustrious career.
This Award is a testament to her unwavering commitment to leadership, community service, and diplomacy, inspiring many over the years.
Her lifelong dedication to promoting peace, championing humanitarian causes, and fostering international cooperation has left an indelible mark on the world stage.
The Award therefore celebrates her extraordinary achievements and tireless efforts to improve the lives of countless individuals in Ghana and beyond.
Receiving the Award at the GHPAC Biennial Golden Gala Awards ceremony in Washington DC on September 27, 2024, Ambassador Mahama dedicated it to the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and expressed her profound appreciation to him for the trust reposed in her when he appointed her as Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States.
She also expressed her gratitude to the staff of the Ghana Embassy and the entire Ghanaian community in the United States through whose efforts and cooperation she has earned this Award.
Some of the other Awardees of the night include Afua Sam, a professional fashion designer and the Founder of Studio D’Maxsi Designs, one of the most notable Fashion Design houses in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, Bernice Mireku-North, Delegate for District 14, Montgomery County, Maryland, Nana Kosua Asantewaa, Kontihemaa of Asanteman Association of Washington Metro Area, Jonelle Ocloo, the founder of The Law Offices of Jonelle Ocloo, LLC (LOJO), an experienced attorney who concentrates her practice in all areas of immigration law and Adom Appiah, the founder of Ball4Good, a nonprofit supporting the community through sports.
