Ambassador Victor Smith joins Worcester Community for Anokye Krom Thanksgiving Celebration

Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor Emmanuel Smith, on Sunday November 30, 2025 joined members of the Ghanaian diaspora and the wider Worcester community at the Thanksgiving Weekend Special Edition organised by Anokye Krom African American Restaurant in Massachusetts.

The event, which formed part of the restaurant’s monthly all-you-can-eat buffet series, featured live performances by The Residence Band and K’Shoes International Band and brought together dozens of patrons for an afternoon of music, food and cultural celebration.

Addressing guests, Ambassador Smith underscored the importance of cultural and community gatherings in strengthening unity and preserving Ghanaian identity abroad.

Ambassador Smith’s said the event formed part of his broader efforts to strengthen relations with Ghanaian communities across the United States and to encourage active participation in cultural and community-based programmes.

“Such events were vital for keeping traditions alive and building bridges between Ghana and its communities in the United States," he said.

The Ambassador during the event interacted with attendees, exchanged greetings and engaged in conversations with both Ghanaian and non-Ghanaian community members.

Organisers said his presence demonstrated the Embassy’s continued commitment to supporting diaspora activities and promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.

Held at the restaurant’s Coes Square location, the celebration offered a buffet priced at $50 for adults and half-rate for children, alongside hours of live music and dancing.

Some guests also described the Ambassador’s participation as a significant show of support that reinforced the strong ties between the Ghanaian government and its citizens abroad.
