C.P.P- U.S.A on Fathia's death

The Members of C.P.P- U.S.A INC. has expressed their most profound sorrow at the passing away of "Our Great Mother," Madam Fathia Nkrumah widow of Ghana's first President, the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on the occasion of the signing of the Book of Condolence opened at the Consulate- General of Ghana Premises in New York- U.S.A.

"Providence has had it that we had our mother for forty-five years after the demise of our great President, Leader and founder- Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory," Professor Ama Ohene the General Secretary of the C.P.P-U.S.A INC.speaking at a colorful ceremony,last Thursday


Professor Ama Ohene noted that the fires of our faith in the national ideals which decried Neo- Colonialism and Imperialism burn even brighter now. With our signatures in this Condolence book, we hereby proclaim: "Ye tease O, yen wuo ye o- We are alive, We are not dead CPP Forward Ever, Backward Never." The Chairman of the C.P.P-U.S.A INC. Dr. Samuel Osafo Asante said the challenges of the 21st century can not be counted with anything but radical, rational, and committed nationalism. Our coming of age is also our right of passage when our party suffered all kinds of indignities, purgation, fragmentation and a real baptism of fire.


"Through it all, the Young Pioneers and Convention People's Party Faithfuls have remained alert and ready for action. We never died. It is now time for action. We call on all members of the Convention People's Party both at home and abroad should organize now, C.P.P BIGGER AND BETTER!!!" Dr. Asantenoted noted.


Honorable Obeng Gyan Busia, the Consul General in New York, said "dear country men and members of the C.P.P, i am happy to host and be present at this event, which seeks to honor the memory of our beloved Mother of national history, Madam Fathia Nkrumah, widow of the President of Ghana Dr. Kwame Nkrumah."


The indefatigable Consul General of Ghana in New York noted that, "People may wonder now as a Busia, I should be so enthusiastic about this sad event but let me say that both the Nkrumah and Danquah-Busia traditions have common ancestry form the UGCC."

He said honor has to be given to those who honor is due , and since Dr. Nkrumah remains a Founder of our dear country Ghana, the man who led the liberalization of African emancipation. It is fitting that the woman who stood by Dr. Nkrumah is given a wealthy goodbye form this earth , with the honor book of condolence. God bless her soul, God bless Ghana and God bless our heavy political differences.


Mohammed Mardah, the Secretary General of National Council of Ghana Association in New York stated that it was rarely historic for the Consul General of Ghana in the United States to honor the memory of Madam Fathia Nkrumah.


"We all know the differences that existed between the two giants of Ghana politics, and today that difference has been bridged by the Consul General and it sends a message that we need to spread throughout the world, by not allowing politics to divide us," Mohammed Mardah noted.


He said Dr. Kwame Nkrumah stood for the unity of Africa and served well because his lovely wife stood steadfastly by him, as we mourn Mother Fathia and honor her memory for her contribution to the development of our dear nation Ghana. Present at the ceremony to grace the event were Mr. Justice Ackah, the Treasurer of CP.P-U.S.A INC. Mr. Seth Asante Adjei- the Organizer of the C.P.P- U.S.A INC. Nii Ahuma, (known in private life as Nat Lamptey-formally of the Ramble Dance Band) the Ga-Mantse of New York and Sub Chief of James town, Accra and some members of C.P.P-U.S.A INC. a
